Iconic Japanese Soccer Game Captain Tsubasa Launches on Oasys Blockchain

Tokyo, Japan, May 20th, 2024, GamingWire

In a significant development for gaming and soccer fans, the blockchain version of beloved Japanese soccer manga series Captain Tsubasa has officially launched on the gaming-centric blockchain Oasys.

Developed by Mint Town, Co., Ltd. and BLOCKSMITH&Co., a subsidiary of mobile gaming giant KLab Inc., Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS- offers an immersive experience wherein players can nurture and collect character NFTs from the original series.

“We are thrilled to bring Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS- to Oasys’ high-performance gaming blockchain, offering fans around the world a new way to experience one of Japan’s most iconic soccer stories,” said Mint Town, Co., Ltd. CEO Hiroshi Kunimitsu.

“As well as catering to the global fanbase of Captain Tsubasa, the release demonstrates the unique capabilities of blockchain technology in enhancing interactive entertainment and gaming.”

Originally serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump between 1981 and 1988, the plot of Captain Tsubasa revolves around the titular Tsubasa Oozora, his friendships, and his exploits on the football pitch. The manga series was adapted into an animé TV show during the mid-80s and has spawned numerous feature-length movies and television series.

The game compels players to engage in a unique blockchain gaming environment where they can develop characters, form teams, and compete in various modes. These include Rival Mode, which revisits the series’ original storyline, PvP Mode which involves battling other online players, and Arena Mode for extensive 11 vs 11 matches.

The game’s special moves come to life through dynamic 3D videos, which are enhanced by generative background music composed by renowned musician, DJ, and producer Shinichi Osawa, aka Mondo Grosso. This innovative integration of music and visuals offers a unique and engaging experience for all players.

To commemorate the game’s launch on Oasys, GENESIS NFTs will include exclusive features such as an Energy Boost, wherein owning up to 10 GENESIS NFTs increases the player’s energy. GENESIS NFTs also include Withdrawal Limit Increase, which enhances the daily TSUBASAUT withdrawal limit in Rival mode. Such features are designed to enhance gameplay and incentivize participation through rewards.

Renowned for its high-speed transaction processing and low fees, Oasys has established itself as the number-one platform for gaming. Players of Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS- can benefit from these features and others to ensure a smooth, cost-effective gaming experience.

The release has garnered support from several high-profile professional soccer players, with Yuto Nagatomo (formerly of Inter Milan, now FC Tokyo) and Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta serving as official ambassadors.

Oasys has pledged to explore further collaborations with Mint Town, Co., Ltd. and other developers to use premium IPs for blockchain games, reiterating commitment to its 2024 Dragon Update vision, which aims to create ‘killer content’ to push the boundaries of gaming and blockchain technology.
